Our Story

At Mainely Berries, we grow and share the freshest highbush blueberries, ready for you to pick or enjoy pre-picked. Owned and operated by Danielle, Max and Olivia Towle, family is built into every juicy berry.

As avid home gardeners, the only logical next step (Olivia rolls her eyes) is to buy one thousand mature blueberry plants and spend all summer tending, harvesting and selling blueberries. But.....

We are going to change it up just a little bit.

Trust! I once heard a comedian say "unless you're taking those apple trees in at night, you're open 24hrs a day" so lets try that. We will limit it to daylight hours as there are no lights (maybe someday) but let's make local food more convenient, more accessible, more affordable and more flexible to fit into any of today's busy schedules. I often ask myself " why don't we eat more local, why don't we snack healthier? We all know we should." and the answer always falls somewhere around convenience. So, we will be open, whether you have a lunch break and want to enjoy picking a pint outdoors, a couple hours with friends or family to stock up for the winter or just a couple minutes passing by to grab some prepicked we will be open. Berries are a seasonal crop and mother nature waits for no man, so they are ripe and gone on their own terms, but we will do our very best to provide consistent updates on the state of the harvest. Biased Pro-Tip: They store frozen amazingly, are much cheaper in season, and with a little milk poured over they make a zero-guilt, frozen, refined-sugar substitute. Now, with great freedom comes great responsibility! Cameras will be in use to cut down on extra curriculars and if you fear going hungry please reach out and we will do our very best to provide.

Throughout the year and for years to come we will be adding some additional fresh items to the stand. Hopefully some String beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, oregano and dill to name a few. We would love for you to drop us a line; on some missing local options you would like to see? Another type of berry or fruit maybe?
